Mountains, Bikes and Politicians

It's been a pretty eventful past couple of weeks.

My brother Jake visited from Austin. We did tons of biking around town and in the mountains, ate lots and watched the Olympics.

Casey goes to the Democratic National Convention and all she got was the goofy photo of a back corner...

A client hired me to write a case study about their high def live streaming technology, which powered the videos on the demconvention.com site. A bunch of technologies came together to make it the highest quality video ever streamed live online - even better than the Olympics - the entire convention from gavel to gavel live in HD. Super interesting stuff.

Anyway, enough about the geeky stuff. I got a pass at the very last minute to get in on that Tuesday night. It was only access to a back room where the tech stuff happened, escorted by the client. BUT, there were some celebrity sightings: Mitt Romney (nice hair!), Anderson Cooper (about 5'9") and Tucker Carlson (not in a bow tie). It was fun to be among all the action, see the protestors, and a swarmed downtown Denver.

When I got home from the convention at 11:30 pm, three boxes of my books were waiting! They're advance copies for reviews and testimonials only, so not totally done. We cracked up when we realized my outfit, once I took my jacket off, matched my book perfectly.

It's football season in Boulder! University of Colorado kicked off its first home game last Friday with a big parade on Pearl Street.

Mt. Princeton in center

We stayed a night Labor Day weekend in Buena Vista so Scott could hike a 14-er, Mt. Princeton. That's 14,192 feet or somewhere around there. He's always wanted to summit it. Aspen and I aren't in shape for it, so we just did the trail a while.

Nearly there!

The first one to summit that day

Back down after 7 hours.

Wow and WOW!!! You two are living the life! Congratulations on the book! AWESOME and a lovely cover.
You're rapidly becoming my coolest friends. Are you sure you want that responsibility? You know, you can't just rest on your laurels. You have to CONTINUALLY do really cool stuff.

Oh my. That's an awful lot of pressure. We'll have to be constantly thinking about what we can do to stay high up on the list. What if we run out of ideas?! I think John and Dayna are pretty cool, but they don't take as many photos as we do. :-)

Thanks for the sweet book comments. It's been a beast of a project.

OHHHH...pretty new format!

Clearly, writing a book has inspired your creativity! You should write more...
