Our Desert Week

We spent a fun Thanksgiving week in Phoenix, the Grand Canyon and Vegas.

At Nate and Lori's house, with our nephew Aiden. We had to dress up as pirates to volunteer at Ironman Arizona. Aiden had his own pirate garb to wear too.

Shelly, Scott and Candace, friends from Colorado, also volunteering at one of the run aid stations, roughly at miles 7, 15 and 23.

Clif was tuckered and numb after finishing in 12:14, a personal record for him. The weather was perfect!

At the Grand Canyon! My first visit.

It was crazy windy and cold, in the teens at night and 40 during the day.

We stayed at a lodge right on the South Rim.

and sunrises were the big draw.

Scott, Nate, Dave and I ran the Catch the Gobbler 5K in Vegas. Scott finished in 19:55 (a new personal record) and won his age group. Dave came in 2 mins later, then Nate 2 mins later, then Casey 2 mins after that!
